Hi all! It's been about a month since I've returned from Peru, and I must say as I take a look of all the pictures I have to admit I miss it and the culture. In just a week I learned so many things that have enriched my culture that I am thankful for having the opportunity to go. International travel is essential in growing up and maturing, every country has different ways of life and it's important to step out of that American mentality and realize that not everyone is as fortunate as us Americans. I plan to take a few more trips this year, and I want to try and reflect while I'm there, and compare and contrast the differences between countries and cultures. I will be preparing a project on the mechanism and techniques of Peruvian weaving. It was what captured my attention the most, so for anyone who has specific questions please ask me and I will include it in my presentation! Bye!
Hello all! Have been without the internet for a few days, but it's because in the mountains of Machu Pichu there isn't much access unless you go to internet cafes. Have managed to capture some breath taking shots which are currently being uploaded to my online albums. Sit tight, a lot to come!
My visit to this Incan village was very interesting! I bought beautiful items here. One of which included a hand made rug which I plan to use as a wall decoration. It depicts Peru nicely it shows the sun, the lamas and the workers. The mountain depicts a face of a man that was fascinating! There was a stairwell that took brave people to the top, but after yesterdays experience with the altitude sickness I opted to stay down where it was safe for me. Little towns girls took all my money! They begged me to help pay for their schooling and I felt so bad I bought 4 finger puppets, a bracelet and a wool hat. I plan on giving the bracelet to my dog Jolie and using it as a collar. As for the finger puppets well, I suppose I can stage a play let's see if someone will record me!
